Working 4 Walkerville

Leadership

I believe in leadership that is both visionary and grounded in Walkerville's community needs. My goal is to lead with a clear plan for our community's future, ensuring that every decision is made with the long-term health of Walkerville in mind.

Respect

Respect is the foundation of any strong community. I will foster an environment where respectful debate is the norm, ensuring that your voice is heard and valued in our public discourse.

Accountability

Transparency about how public funds are used, ensuring that every dollar is spent wisely and in consultation with contituents.

What I Stand For

1. Safer Neighbourhoods

The City of Windsor and our community of Walkerville continue to face real challenges every day. Residents and local businesses increasingly navigate the realities of crime, homelessness, substance use/addiction, and mental health crises.

Further, neighbourhood watch groups report persistent spikes in opportunistic property crimes including package theft, property damage, illegal dumping of garbage, "porch piracy", setting fires and speeding in alleyways, and vehicle and property break-ins.

Our task is to work together to find real solutions. I will collaborate with residents, the business community, and law enforcement to find both practical and effective solutions. Your input into this process is essential.

2. Fiscal Responsibility

We are facing significant and increasing affordability challenges in an uncertain economic climate.

We all work hard for our money. Your tax dollars must be respected. Every dollar counts and must be spent wisely, with accountability.

I will work with you to determine the ‘needs’ versus ‘wants’ prioritizing what makes sense and how and where we put our tax dollars to work in Walkerville.

3. Cleaner Streets, Alleys & Public Spaces

Our streets and alleys need to be cleaner and in good repair. Tourists and family members are not keen to visit areas they perceive as unsafe or even risky.

Instead of the unsightly and frustrating amount of garbage on our streets and alleys, let’s work together and make them clean and welcoming for all. Safe public spaces—streets, alleys, and public parks—are equally important to residents and visitors in Walkerville.

Let’s work together to make our streets and alleys safer.

Listening to community residents and respectul debate are critical to Walkerville's future. Please contact me and share your views and ideas.

Walkerville's many alleys have become unsightly with public dumping of garbage that waits for collection for weeks--and sometimes months. Let's work together to clean these up and create safer spaces for all.

Boarded up buildings, including schools, shopping centres, and warehouses, can be re-purposed for housing and community spaces.
